Seasonal Sensations: Fall

Fall is a great time to visit Buenos Aires as it’s a shoulder season. This means you avoid the colder winter and the hotter summer weather. It’s an ideal time to do just about any activity you want to in Buenos Aires, especially if you aren’t a fan of the heat or cold. It’s also a great time to visit if you want to travel to more places than Buenos Aires. Ushuaia is in foliage season, patagonia is pleasant, and northern Argentina is cooler. In spite of this, it’s also low season (school is in full swing in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres), so you won’t have to manage big crowds of people. This is particularly good for people who aren’t used to the congestion of a big city as even in low season it’s far busier than what one may be accustomed to. So what are some fun things you can do in Buenos Aires?

Football/Soccer Games

As we all know, football is the national passion here. While the football season starts in the Buenos Aires spring, it comes to its exciting climax in the fall! The atmosphere is electric. If you are a football fan you must come during the fall to experience all the hype and excitement of the final matches.ย  These matches last from the end of March through May. Check out our new football experiences!

Music, Art, and Film

Shows go on all year around in Buenos Aires, but Fall tends to have a lot of high-profile shows. Places like Teatro Colรณn take a bit of a summer break and then start back in March. To get people enticed, they like to start off with a bang. There are also a number of film, art, and music festivals around this time of year. For example, in April there is the BAFICI international film festival and in may there is ArtBA.

Wine

It is the perfect time to do a wine-tasting or to head to an estancia to experience rural life. The cooler temperatures and colorful foliage make a day at an estancia a can’t-miss experience. If you’re into horses, some estancias offer riding or polo as part of their full day experience. And a hearty malbec is the perfect way to end a fall day. Check out our experiences for both wine tasting and experiencing some malbec at an estancia!
